Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but wouldn’t a single crash in a test like timespy indicate an unstable card for some situations, therefore making it smarter to just find the frequency it can run at in all applications and locking it there? I only ask because I have overclocked my GPU to be stable in many stress tests (Heaven, Timespy, Singularity, ect) for long durations (above an hour), but have had to lower it for a game called control. When I used Control as a stress test (as it was even more intensive than stress tests due to RTX), and made sure my OC could survive this game, I haven’t had GPU related crashes since then. I know that this was due to RTX, but I don’t think timespay uses ray tracing, so the crashes in that should be more generalizable to other applications, right?

Jokes on you, a few days ago I was able to purchase a 6900 XT Red Devil Limited Edition. It's sitting on my shelf now alongside a R7 5800X, Asus Crosshair VIII Formula and a WD Black SN850 Still need to get a power supply, case, cooler and ram tho.

stock aside I wish this review was done over better (saw vram wasnt even touched on your OC) because my red devil performance Oc’ed got wayyy consistently better performance like 19522 timespy graphics score

Powercolor - About 1000 of these cards need to be made now supply us the GPUs. Amd - best i we do is 67 and that is pushing our limit.

I passed on the RX6800XT for the RTX3080 SUPRIM X. If you have a Micro Center near you. That's the best place to get a GPU.

If people didn't pay scalper prices, scalpers wouldn't exist. But people feel the need to pay outrageous prices for hardware that gives them a 5% jump. My 2 cents

for my new build I wanted to go AMD, so I had to buy everything new as my current setup is Intel. Since I didn't want to wait for stock, I just futured-proofed myself by getting a ROG STRIX X570-E Gaming and just went for a cheaper Ryzen 5 chip and using my old GTX 1070. I'll upgrade the GPU once stock (and prices) normalize and I'll go for a Ryzen 9 (or whatever comes out in the future that's compatible with the X570) in about a year or two.

I watched this clip twice on the 4min55sec mark where you said 6800XT straight from Nvidea of course. Umh... I'm 100% sure it's AMD!! But I like the review anyway!!

Hade a 5700xt with terrible coil whine. Replaced it seversl times with different models but coil whine on all... too bad since they seamed like a good deal. Finalen went with a rtx 2070 super and no coil whine... too bad these new 6000 series also seams to be plagued by coil whine....

Really, how can you fault AMD, and even Nvidia, if there are hoards of scalpers out there. It's virtually impossible at first launch to put enough out there.

Nice card, ghost card i would say, but large part of PCB is uncovered with radiator, and that small fan will be the loudest fan after some time (i got GTX1080Ti Gaming X Trio, so know something about it), and it will cool.... nothing? Also one 8pin connector is wiped out, but heatsing still have place for it? WTF? All those 3 fan GPU's are new fashion, builded by marketing. Remember Gaming X series, with 2 fans? 3 Fans are totally worthless with one smaller sized and heatsing extending over the PCB, while keeping the gap in the middle. They easly gould make one part heatsink, without extension over PCB and put 2 x 120mm - lower RPM, longer durability, bigger air pressure. I also wonder, why noone tried to put horizontal heatsink fins (like on old times), and ANGLED fans on it - so you could put larger fans, and half of fan frame would be uplifted a little - so GPU would be (lets say) 3 slot, but fans would let hot air out of case pretty fast. Fans angle in that particular case needed to be adjusted , but uplifted part of it would be from card I/O panel, second fan uplifted in the middle of card lenght (to direct air to GPU's back)

I have a legitimate question about powering these cards... I see some FItoprs running a single 8 pin cable that splits into two 8 pin connectors... but aren't they only good for 350w? Which on these higher end cards wouldn't be enough for overclocking in a stable way?
